We are seeking a motivated and organized Program & Operations Intern to join our team. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit operations, program coordination, and event planning. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to develop professional skills in operational management, administration, and community engagement while supporting meaningful work.

LHP Intern

Location: The Light House Project (1127 Kildaire Farm Rd. Cary, NC 27511)
Hours: Part-Time, Flexible (10-15 hours per week)
Compensation: Monthly stipend available

Responsibilities:

Program Coordination

  • Assist in the planning, execution, and evaluation of programs and events.

  • Communicate with program participants, volunteers, and external partners to ensure smooth program delivery.

  • Help track attendance, feedback, and outcomes to assess program effectiveness.

  • Provide logistical support for workshops, events, and meetings, including preparing materials and setting up venues.

  • Provide occasional technical support including audio/visual set-up and streaming. 

Operations Support

  • Support the day-to-day operations of The Light House Project, including but not limited to website management, building operations and tenant support, Incubator program management, and in person event support.

  • Manage donor data by using tracking tools like PayPal, Wix, CRM, 

  • Assist with donor communications on Mailchimp, such as thank-you emails and impact updates.

  • Help maintain and organize organizational resources, including scheduling meetings and preparing documents.

Qualifications:

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Organized: Able to juggle multiple tasks and deadlines with strong attention to detail.

  • Reliable: Dependable and able to work independently or as part of a team. Must have their own transportation

  • A Strong Communicator: Comfortable interacting with diverse audiences, including staff, volunteers, and program participants.

  • Tech-Savvy: Familiar with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Website management, Donor and CRM Management tools, and social media platforms; experience with Mailchimp, Canva, and .

  • Passionate: Excited about nonprofit work and The Light House Project’s mission to empower the Muslim American community.

  • Flexible: In person and remote work. Includes evenings and weekends.

  • Driver's License Requirement: Candidates must possess a valid driver's license. This role requires frequent travel to multiple sites, and the ability to drive is essential for performing job duties effectively. Please ensure your license is valid through the duration of employment.

  • Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of applying.
